Glossary

kWh (Kilowatt-hour): A unit of energy, commonly used to measure electricity consumption. 1 kWh is the energy used by a 1,000-watt appliance for one hour.

CCF/HCF (Centum/Hundred Cubic Feet): A unit of volume used for water and gas billing. 1 CCF = 100 cubic feet (approx. 748 gallons).

Therm: A unit of heat energy, commonly used for natural gas. It measures the heat content of the gas.

Fixed Charge: A flat fee charged by the utility company each month, regardless of consumption. It covers costs like meter reading and infrastructure maintenance.

Rate: The price you pay per unit of consumption (per kWh, CCF, or Therm).
